ABOUT | Mara Tasker

Mara is an award winning documentary Director and Creative Producer based in Colorado. She is passionate about crafting cinematic, character-driven stories that explore the depths of human experience.

Her background is in documentary film and digital media. In 2015, she was one of the lead West coast producers for VICE's female news vertical Broadly, which premiered as the company's most successful channel launch in its history. She was Creative Executive for VICE Films and helped develop their series documentaries from inception through post. With a background in policy centered storytelling, Mara has directed and produced dozens of digital documentaries, interviews and advertisements from pitch through post-production. She has overseen teams of Producers, Associate Producers and Editors, field-produced, post-produced, cast, and written development treatments.
